We would like to welcome everyone to our Youth Corps 2013 Camp Diary! This year we are a group of 15 AYF Canada volunteers from Cambridge, Montreal-Laval, and Toronto, the largest group yet since our launch in 2011, who will be traveling to Vanadzor, Armenia, to organize a two week day camp for over 100 local children.
We believe that connecting the Diaspora with its motherland is an important process of strengthening the Armenian nation. One of the goals of the Armenian Youth Federation of Canada is to develop the moral, social and intellectual capacity of the Armenian youth both inside and outside of Armenia. Apart from games and activities, the children are provided the opportunity to receive lessons on English, computers, science, music, health, ARF history and citizenship. The children are also provided with a daily lunch and snacks as well as a backpack full of school supplies.
This initiative is a large undertaking for AYF Canada and we appreciate any financial contribution to support this worthwhile cause. Donations can be made here: http://www.ardziv.org/ayfcan/donate/
